The role is multi-faceted with the Transport Manager being required to lead the depot performance with operator licensing, vehicle maintenance arrangements and EU/domestic driver's hours regulations. The Transport Manager will also work with all depot employees to maintaining accurate training records, including UKPIA and client passports, and coordinate training attendance with the Contracts Manager and SHEQ, where required. The Transport Manager will be the designated Health and Safety Representative for the depot, liaising with the SHEQ team to ensure site compliance. Working with the Forecourt Services Director and the Environmental Fleet Compliance and Asset Manager the role will maintain and support a culture of safe drivers and work within a robust fleet management system to operate safe reliable vehicles. More about the role: Ensure EU/domestic drivers hours records are being adequately maintained within the depot in line with related legislation, including the
generation/debrief/sign-off of driver infringements and the input of manual entries. Monitor/report depot RTD performance, highlighting areas of concern and any required actions. As the CPC holder, maintain compliance with 48 hour working average and help develop working practices that support continued adherence to the regulations. Development and monitoring of defect reporting systems to ensure that roadworthiness obligations are being maintained and that reporting/rectification actions are completed in a timely manner. Highlight areas for improvement or concern. Roll-out and maintain spot check routines for all depot vehicles to support roadworthiness and asset management disciplines. Monitor usage of company fuel cards to ensure compliance of usage in line with company procedures. Ensure all employee training records are up to date, maintain concise records and coordinate training attendance. Working with the SHEQ/Quality team create/maintain a framework for the delivery of internal
compliance audits covering all aspects of depot operations. Carry out audits at depot location(s) and report findings/actions. Support the SHEQ team with creation or delivering safety campaigns and or toolbox talks. Deliver toolbox talks at depot location(s) as required. Contribute to transport policy / procedure inclusive of document updates and distribution. Coordinate transport related L&D inclusive of DCPC/TMCPC and management qualifications. Participate in new vehicle specification exercises, coordinating user group working parties and front-line inputs.
