Full Job Description
The Valuation Office Agency's National Valuation Unit (NVU) is responsible for the valuation of some of the most highly specialised and complex properties predominantly for rating purposes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Valuation Panels (VP), responsible for the strategic oversight of property types and groupings, as well as the Class Co-ordination Team (CCT), which managing solutions and recommendations for the valuation approach of property types within its areas. Working across the VOA, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving and improving the creation, accessibility and maintenance of our Non-Domestic Rating valuation guidance. You will be covering a variety of work within the role from co-ordinating and driving workload, monitoring assurance and supporting senior leads with administrative tasks. On the team you will have frequent opportunity to collaborate closely with stakeholders at all levels, both within the Agency and externally. You will gain exposure to various aspects of the business, engaging in diverse projects that will offer valuable opportunities to develop and broaden your skill set. You will play a key role in leading the identification of and supporting gathering the cost of construction based evidence where that underpins our rating valuations. To deliver this you will be expected to work with stakeholders across the Agency and where necessary outside the Agency. Please note the internal name for this role is Valuation Panel (VP) & Class Co-ordination Team (CCT) Support Lead. Valuation Guidance Support Lead - Key responsibilities
- Being responsible for the monitoring of the completion of our Revaluation Practice Notes, ensuring that monitoring tools are available, are completed and are up to date.
- Working with the Agencies quality assurance team and CCT leads to ensure that Practice Notes are quality checked and completed to the expected standard, driving continuous improvement in that area.
- Design and implement amendments and updates to the team Intranet sites and SharePoint sites. Meeting an expected standard so they can be used effectively by colleagues.
- Supporting Senior Leads to drive the activities of CCTs forwards, effectively contributing to the planning and delivery of change.
- Supporting with the monitoring and assuring of Pre-List discussions. Driving that activity forwards in a 3 yearly revaluation cycle.
- Being an advocate and a champion of the Valuation Panel & Class Co-ordination Team (VPCCT), working with Senior Leads to imbed the awareness of the Team activities across the Agency.
- Hold the responsibility for leading the identification and gathering of new build cost evidence for our rating valuations.
- Monitor and share updates/metric on the receipt and analysis of cost evidence and where necessary, associated rental evidence. Ensure that this information is available to Class Co-ordination Team Leads across the Agency.
- Liaise with stakeholders within and outside the Agency, including Scotland & Northern Ireland to support the gathering of new build cost evidence.
- Maintain the CCT membership list for the VP Heads, CCT contact list for the Scottish Assessors and the Northern Ireland Lands & property service and ensure that they are up to date and accurate.
