Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Shift patterns: Sunday to Thursday 22:00-06:00 Location: Burton on Trent - DE13 0BB DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Warehouse First Line manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods and dispatching orders. WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

  • To directly assist management by reporting on and monitoring the effectiveness of all warehousing activities and performance in your designated area
  • To supervise, implement and coordinate productivity by communicating job expectations to direct line reports, ensuring that all deadlines are safely met within allocated time frames, while always maintaining standards of excellence
  • To track and trace orders using a digital in-house tracking software system, ensuring that records are maintained and kept at optimum level
  • To ensure health and safety standards are maintained while delivering a smooth service on our night shift into the 14 distribution centres. Picking & loading operation are managed to achieve scheduled dispatch times.
  • To manage a small team of operatives, leading by example with a consistent approach to all policies such as communication, H&S, resource planning, attendance etc. in line with the sites agreement and procedures.
  • Working in an environment with alcoholic products.
  • WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
  • Previous and practical experience as a Supervisor or Team Leader within a logistics environment essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain practices.
  • Previous experience of preparation and distribution of volume orders.
  • Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software packages.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to supervise, organise and train direct reports.
