Full Job Description

Claxton are currently looking to hire a Workshop/Hydraulic Technician on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Great Yarmouth, the Hydraulic Technician's role is to be responsible for the hydraulic systems/ components of Claxton hydraulically operated Products. This is to include development of hydraulic circuits, maintaining, refurbishing, repairing, and testing ready for use as required by on-going project requirements, working closely with the product leaders to develop new equipment and modify existing equipment.,

  • Responsible for the refurbishment repair and testing of all Hydraulic Power Units (HPU), Control Panels, Tensioning systems and thereafter any other Claxton equipment as required.
  • Ensure all Hydraulic equipment is fit for purpose ready for project operational requirements.
  • To ensure that all activities are undertaken safely and to ensure that HSE legislation, company processes and policies are implemented and followed.
  • Input into preparation of generic written schemes of examination and generic maintenance/refurbishment procedures for various product lines.
  • To perform any other assigned project work as allocated by the Workshop Supervisor.

    Good standard of education - GCSE or above.
  • Ability to read and prepare Hydraulic schematics.
  • A working knowledge of Health & Safety, ISO9001 and QA procedures
  • Minimum 5 years served as Hydraulics engineer, ideally trained in Hydraulic courses relating to accumulators, bladders, hydraulic cylinders etc.
  • Excellent engineering aptitude.
  • Computer literate, Word, Excel, Office 365.
  • Excellent Communication and planning skills.
  • Excellent trouble shooting abilities.
  • Self-Motivated and driven.
  • A friendly and co-operative nature together with a "can do" attitude.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Hold a driving license.
  • Certs in Forklift license (up to 16 Tonne), banksman slinger, Overhead crane, ECITB MJI Bolt Torquing preferred.
  • Working at Height and IOSH Managing safely would be desirable.
