Full Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual with relevant experience to assist in the day-to-day running of the Finance Office and the financial systems. You will take an active role in the monitoring and reconciliation of all bank accounts in line with the monthly timetable. Take responsibility for the maintenance, and the reconciliation to the nominal ledger, of the fixed asset register and the generation of depreciation schedules to tight deadlines to feed into the monthly management accounts. You will also produce standard and ad-hoc financial information to assist in the generation of both monthly management accounts and audited financial statements for all entities, along with analysis to inform strategic College decisions. The main duties of the post holder are:
- To monitor and generate monthly reports on part-time lecturing expenditure, liaising with faculties to provide robust financial information to the Management Accountant.
- To generate monthly financial journals including accruals and prepayments.
- To administer the College's sub-contract arrangements.
- To develop a good working knowledge of the College's financial procedures and meet with budget holders across all College departments to promote good practice with regard to financial management.
- To take responsibility for cash collection systems across all entities including tills, pdq and stock systems.
- To complete statutory financial returns.
Is working towards a professional CCAB qualification - Have a minimum of two years' experience of working in a finance environment.
- Has an awareness of financial regulatory standards
- Has imagination and is able to work on their own initiative
- Has the ability to organise own workload, work to deadlines.
- Has the ability to understand and interpret complex documentation
- Has excellent communication skills with a good telephone manner
- Excellent MS Office Skills (Word and Excel)
- Works with accuracy and pays attention to detail
