Full Job Description
Successful applicants will be able to work as part of the Early Years Inclusion Service supporting children 0-5yrs with special educational needs and/disabilities, their families and any settings they attend. You will work alongside support workers, other advisory teachers and Educational Psychologists to overcome barriers to learning and participation, under the direction of the team leader and manager of PCC Early Years' Inclusion Service. You will be able to support a process of assessment planning, intervention and review to meet children's needs working together with home and settings, whilst linking with other professionals. Plymouth is a compact city, and we are a friendly, motivated, and supportive multi professional team working closely with other SEND teams within the council. There are excellent relationships with our Early Years settings and children's centres. This is an exciting time to join us, with the evolution of family hubs as part of Plymouth's growing early help programme. Our team is integral, along with other services and settings, to the delivery of Plymouth City Council's guidance on Ordinarily Available Provision and the Early Years Graduated Approach to Inclusion.

- Can work consultatively and adopt problem solving and solution focused models of working Applications are welcome from candidates with - Teaching qualification and demonstrable teaching experience including significant recent experience of children with SEND - A clear understanding of the needs of early years children with SEND - Knowledge of early years development including awareness of children's emotional health and well being - Detailed knowledge of key legislation such as: the SEN Code of Practice, SEN and Disability Developments, National Curriculum, The Revised Early Years Foundation Stage Profile. - Ability to travel flexibly around the city The Disclosure & Barring Service Check requirement for this post is: Enhanced Check + DBS Children's Barred List.
