Full Job Description
Solihull Children's Services are looking to recruit a permanent Business Support Officer to support the Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated and pro-active to join us. This is a crucial administrative role where you will assist in the recruitment and support of foster carers within the borough. The team is located in one of our modern offices at Chelmunds Place. This role will be customer facing which requires someone who can communicate effectively to a variety of different levels. You will need to have the ability to retain detailed information and plan ahead. The position is hybrid offering flexibility with three days per week in the office. Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the fostering recruitment process for Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, supporting Social Workers, Support Workers, and Manager within the team
- Handle enquiries from prospective foster carers via phone, email and in-person
- Co-ordination and preparation of our recruitment events which will involve some evening and weekend working
- Involvement of transporting and manual handling of equipment for awareness raising and marketing events
- Facilitate fostering events and provide information to potential carers.
- Manage and maintain accurate records using Microsoft Excel and internal file management system
- Strong administrative skills with experience in data management
- Work with local community groups and stakeholders to raise awareness of fostering opportunities
Significant customer facing experience, to be able to communicate to a variety of people at different levels - Familiarity with fostering recruitment process is preferable but not essential To be considered for this post, you will have either four GCSEs Grade A-C /4-9 (or equivalent) including Maths and English, or an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent numeracy and literacy skills., This is an essential car user post as the demands of the job make it operationally essential and there is a contractual requirement to make a suitable vehicle available to ensure the requirements of the job can be carried out effectively. Applicants must be able to drive, have a driving licence and be a car owner, have access to a vehicle, however for disabled applicants, reasonable adjustments will be made where required This post will require a Disclosure and Barring check for regulated activity with children This post is covered by the Fluency Duty, as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.
