Salary details: £43,693 to £46,731 per annum pro rata

North East Derbyshire District Council is a dynamic and ambitious organisation that takes pride in delivering excellent services to our community whilst driving economic growth and environmental sustainability for the district.
NEDDC is set within North Derbyshire and has easy access to some of Derbyshire's key assets such as the largest market town, stately homes as well as the Peak District National Park.
With a One team approach, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across the council and with partner agencies to support the Council's objectives.
We are seeking an enthusiastic lawyer with excellent communication skills to join our developing and ambitious legal team at NEDDC.
You will have an opportunity to learn and/or develop your legal skills in a local authority setting, particularly in the areas of litigation, legal drafting and property law.
Whilst Local Authority experience is desirable, those with little or no experience of local authority legal work will be considered if they can demonstrate clear transferable skills and experience. We therefore welcome applicants who have relevant skills and experience obtained through the private or public sector.
You will provide legal advice, prepare court papers, review evidence and have the opportunity to undertake advocacy in respect of Environmental Health, Planning, Licensing, Housing and Anti Social Behaviour.
We are looking for fresh thinking and enthusiastic individuals who will support the Team's ambition and passion for making a difference in the district, providing a high quality legal service.
The Council operates a flexible working policy, good annual leave entitlement and hybrid working.
For a full list of job details and requirements please view the Job Description and Person Specification.
