Full Job Description
Are you an enthusiastic Geography Teacher looking for a new challenge? Do you want to make a positive impact on young peoples lives? An Ofsted rated 'good' secondary school based in Addlestone, Surrey are recruiting a Geography Teacher or a Head of Department (Geography) to join its ambitious team. The school are looking for a passionate teacher who is able to challenge and empower all students whilst maintaining the community ethos. This school is also part of a large multi academy trust with great ambition and who encourage the networking of staff between all of their schools. Responsibilities of the Geography Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging geography lessons that align with the national curriculum
- Foster a love for geography and an understanding of its real-world applications
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to drive improvement
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and share best practices
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enrich the educational experience
Bachelor's degree in Geography or a related field (PGCE or QTS is a plus) - Proven experience as a Geography Teacher, with a successful track record in improving student outcomes
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for geography
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to the school's values and mission
