About the Personal Development department The Personal Development Department is dedicated to supporting students in their journey of self-discovery, well-being, and growth, both inside and outside the classroom. Our curriculum focuses on developing essential life skills such as resilience, emotional intelligence, and effective communication, alongside fostering an understanding of mental health, relationships, and citizenship. Through a varied and engaging program that includes PSHE, mindfulness, and character education, we aim to empower students to make positive, informed decisions and thrive in all aspects of their lives. The department works collaboratively to create a safe, supportive environment where students are encouraged to reflect on their values, set goals, and develop the skills needed to navigate the challenges of adolescence and beyond. About You: As a Teacher of Personal Development at The Bulwell Academy, you will believe passionately about making a difference to the life of every student and who do so with integrity, humility, and relentless positivity. Your expertise will empower learners to develop their skills in a creative and collaborative classroom environment. Our ideal candidate would:
- Be an excellent and reflective classroom practitioner.
- Be adaptable, adjusting teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and keeping up with the latest advancements in the field.
- Have effective communication skills, the ability to clearly articulate ideas, provide constructive feedback and foster open dialogue among colleagues, students and parents. Requirements: To apply for the Curriculum Lead - Personal Development opportunity, you must hold:
- Experience of teaching Personal Development at KS3 and KS4 or hold a relevant degree in the field.
- Qualified Teacher Status with a proven record as a teacher whose students reach high standards of learning and achievement.
- Experience of high-quality curriculum development in the subject area to maximise participation and strengthen progress and achievement for all students.
