Summary
About the Role Evolve Psychology Services is an award-winning, NHS and HSE-approved independent psychology and neurodevelopmental practice, founded by Dr. Laura Powling. We specialise in high-quality neurodevelopmental assessments for adults, particularly focusing on Autism. We are looking for experienced clinicians to join our Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team and conduct comprehensive Autism assessments for adults referred via NHS Patient Choice and GP referrals. This role offers both full-time and part-time positions, with a hybrid working structure. While some of the work can be completed remotely, there will be a requirement to travel to Huddersfield for face-to-face assessments. This flexibility allows for a balanced work-life arrangement while remaining part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team. As a clinician, you will conduct diagnostic assessments for Autism using established tools and provide detailed reports and recommendations. There may also be an opportunity to supervise junior staff, depending on experience.
Key Duties
- Conduct comprehensive Autism assessments for adults using established diagnostic tools.
- Write detailed, professional assessment reports, providing clear recommendations and interventions.
- Collaborate with GPs and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate assessments.
- Supervise and support junior team members based on experience.
- Travel to Huddersfield for occasional face-to-face assessments as part of the hybrid role.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
- HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist or equivalent.
- Experience conducting diagnostic neurodevelopmental assessments for adults, particularly Autism.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and professional reports.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
- Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and appropriate assessment tools for Autism.
- Experience working with adults with neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health difficulties in a clinical setting.
Desirable Qualifications
- ADOS-2/ADI-R trained
- Additional qualifications in Autism or related areas.
Essential Experience
- Experience in conducting Autism assessments in adults using standardised diagnostic tools.
- Experience in report writing and clinical documentation.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with ADHD assessments would be advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff.
