Full Job Description
General paediatric on calls as per the rota which includes long days, Twilights, night shifts alongside 9 to 5 shifts on a 8 cell rota.
Continuous assessment of patients during on call, leading the team and supervising the Resident Doctors whilst on call
Ensure the patients reviewed are post taken with a consultant during the on call
Prepare the list of patients in the morning in preparation of the morning post take when on call and ensuring smooth flow of patients between emergency department, hildren's ward and Children's Assessment unit
Do some paediatric outpatient clinics as required.
Teaching medical students and trainee doctors and helping in nursing teaching programmes, run on the ward.
Taking responsibility for organising timely appraisal and assessments with consultants for portfolio.
Cover other colleagues in their absence in respect of annual, study leave and bank holidays.
Contributing to the clinical governance - audit, service improvement projects, teaching rota.
To participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME) and maintain a portfolio for revalidation.
Complete admin work / letters from clinical activity.
Maintain mandatory training
