Full Job Description
The Patient Equality Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Manager will be a passionate Equalities, Diversity, and Inclusion leader with experience of identifying and leading culture change, working in partnership to create inclusive services that provide equity of access, experience, and outcomes for patients/service users., Provide strategic and operational expertise on the equality, diversity, inclusion, human rights and health inequalities legislation across the organisation, supporting Divisions to work towards equity of access, experience, and outcomes for patients. Supporting with the delivery the patient experience elements of health inequalities work plans, lead a Trust wide EDI Patient Steering Group ensuring there is a regular focus on learning for improvement, participation in the annual Patient Led Assessment of the Care Environment (PLACE), ensuring compliance with Equality Impact Assessments and annual access audits. Lead on the development, implementation and monitoring of the patient related actions set out in the Trust's EDI action plan. Be accountable for the preparation and delivery of subject matter expert reports, documentation, and briefing papers to key internal and external stakeholders. To have a thorough knowledge of ED&I legislation, case law, best practice, and Trust policies to advise staff on appropriate action to take regarding service delivery. To represent the Trust on national and local forums and other such Equality & Diversity, Inclusion activities on behalf of the Head of Patient Experience where required. About us

You will help to lead on and drive sustainable improvements in our services to deliver inclusive care through the health inequalities agenda.,
- Masters in relevant subject or equivalent experience gained in a relevant role
- Specialist qualification in equality and/or human rights or equivalent experience gained in a relevant role
- Knowledge of the NHS standards and governance requirements in relation to equality and diversity
- Evidence of continued professional development Desirable
- Degree or equivalent experience Knowledge, Expertise and Experience Essential
- Experience of engaging with under represented patients/groups
- Working knowledge of the E&D regulatory framework, legislation and obligations placed on public bodies
- Knowledge of EDI agenda as it applies to employment
- Knowledge of the current development and best practice in EDI
- Knowledge of health inequalities agenda
- Experience of delivering actions and reaching targets through other people for whom not directly responsible
- Experience of advising at a senior level on relevant legislative requirements
- Experience of working collaboratively with key stakeholders, including patients and carers
- Experience of line management responsibilities
- Experience of producing engagement plans, presentations
- Experience of working across organizational boundaries/ functions and of influencing others
- Extensive experience of coordinating Equality Diversity Inclusion (EDI) activities, working directly with people from protected characteristics and staff to progress this agenda
- Experience of undertaking Equality Impact Assessments/Equality Analysis of projects and supporting delivery of action plans
- Must be able to recognise discrimination in its many forms and be willing to put into practice Touchstones Equality Policies
- Understanding of the causes and solution to Health Inequalities
- Awareness of barrier which marginalized groups encounter when attempting to access services.
- NHS Accessible Information Standard Desirable
- Experience of working and/or advising a wide range of senior stakeholders in the delivery of the equality and diversity agenda and compliance with the Public Sector Equality Duty in a healthcare or equivalent setting
