Full Job Description
Detail
This is an excellent opportunity to gain Leadership Team experience within one of the world's leading schools.
We are looking for a charismatic, outward-facing and energetic leader with strong management experience to inspire and lead our Upper College community.
As one of three Heads of Division, the Head of Upper College carries significant responsibility, overseeing the quality of provision in all areas of KS4 (currently 250+ pupils), including line management of tutors and Heads of Year. In this regard, the autonomy and responsibilities are similar to an Assistant Head role.
The successful candidate will have a leading role in promoting the Upper College experience and programmes both internally and externally to pupils and parents.
Close liaison with the wider pastoral team will be essential in ensuring each pupil flourishes during their time at College, and makes a successful transition from their earlier years in education, at College or elsewhere, and on from Upper College to their Sixth Form years.
It is expected that the successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner and will teach a reduced timetable in their specialist subject. A flexible approach is needed, as the remit may expand in future.
As one of the world's leading schools, and with a strong pioneering heritage, our aim is to embody excellence, independence and empowerment in the education of young women. We are a friendly and supportive community of committed professionals who place our pupils at the heart of all we do. We are ambitious for their futures, collectively and individually, and have been so for over 170 years.
