Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Group Technology's Portfolio Management Office (PMO) as a Portfolio Delivery Analyst. The purpose of the role is to support a Head of Portfolio, and their team of Project Managers, with all elements of delivery assurance, reporting, stage gate governance and planning related to the delivery of their portfolio of projects. It will require extensive collaboration and engagement across our delivery teams, partners, key business and Divisional customers, and wider technology colleagues. This role is critical to the successful delivery of projects and the realisation of portfolio benefits, to support the achievement of OUP's future goals. Responsibilities will include:

  • Demand Management: Facilitation of annual planning, managing stakeholder inputs and facilitating planning workshops when required. Management of demand pipelines, tracking new demand and delivery status on behalf of the portfolio
  • Portfolio Governance: Ensuring decision gates are recorded, risks and issues tracked and governance effectively managed. Maintain project documentation, including project plans, risk registers, and change requests, while ensuring adherence to organizational governance standards and compliance requirements.
  • Data Management and Reporting: Collect and maintain project-related data, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Working with the Reporting and Planning Analyst generate regular reporting to ensure senior stakeholder visibility of the portfolio status, demonstrate progress and ensure appropriate risks are highlighted.
  • Financial tracking: Working with finance teams and delivery teams to ensure that finances are tracked, consistently reviewed and that both operating and delivery costs are fully considered.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and project metrics, identifying trends and potential issues to help the PMO and project managers make informed decisions.
  • Support and Coordination: Assist project managers in various tasks, such as resource renewals, scheduling, and budget tracking, while facilitating communication and collaboration among different project teams within the portfolio delivery framework., We are committed to supporting diversity in our workforce, and ensuring an inclusive environment where all individuals can thrive.     Capable of communicating and influencing across a range of stakeholders the successful candidate will be passionate about delivery excellence and realisation of outcomes and will be willing to identify and fill gaps in order to maximise the success of delivery.
  • We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office. About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Essential:
  • Strong background and understanding of project, programme and portfolio management methodologies and delivery models for change initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to build collaborative relationships whilst holding to account and having challenging conversations
  • Desirable:
  • Strong track record of portfolio planning and demand management
  • Strong track record of project delivery reporting, risk management and executive insight creation
  • Understanding of financial processes including forecasting, capitalisation and business case preparation
  • Experience of working with contractor agencies, resource management
