Full Job Description
We are looking to appoint cover supervisors to take responsibility for groups and classes in the senior school to cover the short-term absence of the designated teacher. These are term-time only positions, covering up to 8 periods a day, plus one duty. Responsibilities include:
- managing classrooms to supervise and direct pupils to complete work that has been set
- supporting positive pupil engagement and pupil conduct while they are undertaking this work
- taking the class register, and assisting with the follow up of pupils who are unaccounted for at morning and afternoon registrations
- dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures
- liaising with the pastoral team about urgent pastoral or safeguarding concerns when required
- collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
- reporting back as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising
- being on supervision duty over breaktime and lunchtime, as required, to monitor and ensure safe behaviour in designated play and social spaces
- undertaking other supervisory duties around the school and provide assistance with other general duties when required Person specification Essential:

- Motivated to work with children and young people
- Strong pastoral instincts and a commitment to excellent pastoral care and safeguarding for all pupils Desirable:

- Start date: 26 August 2025
- Salary: £19,357 per annum
- Monday to Friday: 08:40 to 16:10 term time only. (includes half an hour for provided lunch)
- 25 working days' annual paid holiday plus statutory English public holidays (pro rata) - personal holiday can only be taken during the normal school holidays
