Full Job Description
- Production of the weekly costings for a number of operations run from our customer-focused sites
- Preparation of Management Accounts including posting journals
- Investigation and explanation of variances in the Management Accounts
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Support with the production of the monthly review pack of financial and operational management information for discussion with customers at review meetings
- Invoice and credit control customers and update the Company cash forecast
- Review supplier invoices against their purchase orders and assist in the authorisation process
- Deal with site suppliers including self-billing subcontract hauliers on a weekly basis
- Assist with the annual budget process
- Collate and issue various internal reporting
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects
- Filing and admin to support the accounts team as required
To apply for the role of Assistant Management Accountant, you will possess the following skills, experiences and qualifications: - Highly proficient in using IT, including MS Office and accounts software
- Excel is a key management information tool, a sound knowledge of spreadsheet writing and analysis of data is essential
- Good communicator at all levels including, operational warehouse and transport managers and staff, customers, suppliers and other internal staff
- Good team-player with the drive to see tasks through to completion and meet deadlines set
- Inquisitive in nature with the ability to take initiative, looking for constant development and improvement of procedures
- Excellent attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy
- Have the ability to take on further responsibility and progress into a Management Accountant role
- Part qualified accountant desired, (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
