"Small cog- big difference?"
Behind every well-functioning charity is someone who knows exactly where the documents are, when the next meeting is, and which version of the policy is the final-final version. If that someone, is you - we’d love to meet you.
At St Mary’s Hospice, we’re looking for a Clerk to the Board of Trustees:
a detail-focused, quietly confident professional who can help us maintain the high standards, clarity, and structure that keep our governance strong and our organisation running smoothly.
Your mission (should you choose to accept it):
Prepare agendas, minutes and papers for Board meetings, subcommittees and working groups ensuring everything’s where it needs to be, when it needs to be.
Maintain meticulous records with Companies House and the Charity Commission
Keep an eye on governance developments so we’re always a step ahead.
Provide reliable, confidential support to the CEO and Executive Team.
Help new trustees, with care and professionalism
Your superpowers:
You’ve worked in a Clerk or senior admin role and understand the thrill of a well-organised file system
You communicate clearly, diplomatically, and without unnecessary CCs
You keep calm when things change, run late or go missing (because they won’t on your watch)
You understand governance- not as red tape but as the framework that makes great work possible
This is a role for someone who doesn’t need applause to do excellent work but deserves it anyway. If you believe in purpose, professionalism and up to date policies - then you're our kind of person.
