Full Job Description
Northumbria University supports a population of approximately 1000 postgraduate research (PGR) students and their supervisors, from a wide variety of funding sources, including funded studentships (see https://www.northumbria.ac.uk/research/postgraduate-research-degrees/studentships/ ). We are looking to recruit a talented individual to support delivery of research student programmes. The successful person will be able to support a wide range of activities. The candidate will provide first level support and guidance for students and supervisors throughout their programme. They will be able to work with systems and processes to maintain student records systems and web pages, process purchase orders and examiner claims, and support arrangements for training and events., The role is based in the Graduate School, within Research and Innovation Services, The team manages research programmes life-cycle from recruitment, through enrolment, induction, training, progression, examination and award, and associated regulatory and funding arrangements. Research and Innovation Services deliver a range of professional support for strategy, policy and academic delivery of research and innovation; through a combination of central and Faculty-aligned provision, it supports academic colleagues and postgraduate researchers.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Knowledge of the Higher Education environment and postgraduate programmes.
- The ability to work as an effective team member.
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience of receiving and responding to customer enquiries.
- Experience of working with data and online systems for record keeping.
