Summary
Public Open Space Manager
Starting salary up to £60,000 per annum
Based at the King's Lynn, Norfolk
We are looking for someone to lead our Public Open Space Team, who has experience of managing task-based area teams, especially working on or adjacent to the highway. In addition, you will oversee the maintenance of our award winning green open spaces and contribute to the Clean, Green and Safe initiatives in Kings Lynn and across the Borough.
The team has in-depth expertise in horticultural matters, to complement these skills we welcome applications from applicants who have experience of task identification, risk assessment, implementation and delivery of safe systems of work.
As well as overall management of the Public Open Space teams, as the Service Manager you will have responsibility for the running of the Council depot and commercial fleet in the region of 100 vehicles and associated equipment. You will also work alongside our other corporate teams during events and periods of civil/emergency response.
Successful candidates will have experience of managing budgets, leading large teams and contract management. Other key skills, knowledge and experience required are:
- Management qualification at level 5 or similar.
- Nationally recognised health and safety qualification.
- Technical knowledge of managing commercial vehicles, plant and industrial equipment.
- Prepare and present formal reports.
- Ability to develop and audit quality management systems/site standards.
Due to the operational nature of this role the candidate is expected to work from the depot and travel to operational sites as needed.
