Full Job Description
There is room for the right person to grow within the role, by supporting the Middlesbrough site Quality team with supplier audits and with internal audits. The opportunity where you will make an impact:
- Ensure all specified safety, quality and legality requirements are fully compliant by the supplier base.
- Maintain the approval system for new Contract Manufacture Suppliers and raw materials alongside Procurement and Research and development departments.
- Support the closure of non-conformances with effective corrective and preventative actions, identifying root cause for supplier audits.
- Operate a database to ensure GFSI accreditation is held & maintained by the Co base, manage Co Man site certificates deemed necessary by the business (including any product safety (e.g. WADA) or Quality Assurance (e.g. ISO).
- Manage and maintain database of Quality Survey and Audit reports associated to site approval status.
- Ensure GPN Format specifications and supporting documents are compiled, maintained and agreed with Contract Manufacturers for all products.
- Develop and report on the external microbiological & chemical testing programs. Ensure database of Certificates of Analysis is maintained.
- Ensure positive release of all Co Man stock on SAP using COA where relevant.
- Working with 3rd party warehouse and distributors manage any held / rejected stock incidents ensuring physical segregation/identification and SAP Quarantine of stock.
- Investigate as appropriate any customer complaints, Environmental Health / Trading Standards complaints.
- Maintain Quality KPI dashboard for Co Man base with trend analysis to ensure Continual Improvement.
- Liaise with R&D during trials and product launches to ensure new products conform to standards and specifications with release as required.
- Escalating, where appropriate, quality or product safety issues which are not being addressed and improved appropriately or in good time or are considered critical to the business or its customers.
- Drive to exceed the business Product Safety & Quality targets internally and externally.
- Carry out investigations and projects as directed by the Supply Quality Manager.
Previous food industry experience is essential. - Auditing Qualification is desirable.
- Level 2 Food Safety Certification or above is essential
- Level 2 HACCP Certification or above is essential
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and SAP if possible.
- Flexible and be able to work as part of a team, covering for holidays where needed.
- Possess a good verbal and written communication through different stakeholders.
- Strong time management and organization skills are essential.
- Experience with using QADEX or similar Supplychain approval tools advantageous Key challenges and Success Measures:
