Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team providing Dementia Support Service within Oxfordshire.The Service Manager has the responsibility for the coordination of organising and facilitating the successful and safe provision of 3 weekly activity groups for people living with dementia and/or their carers, sourcing, arranging and delivering activities and refreshments. Two groups are currently based at the Cornhill Centre, Banbury with a 3rd new venue to be sourced and set up in North Oxfordshire. The role includes staff management, recruitment, training and support of volunteers, networking with key stakeholders, processing referrals, ensuring the service is delivered in line with funding agreements, and developing the service further with Royal Voluntary Service Vision and Core Values in order to achieve key performance targets. Hours: Working 20 hours a week across 3 days, including Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- GCSE Maths and English grade A-C or Scottish Higher qualification in English.
- A knowledge and/or experience of dementia
- An understanding of the value of group activities for people living with dementia
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including Safeguarding / Adult and Child Support and Protection, Health & Safety and the Mental Capacity Act
- An understanding of the need for client confidentiality
- An understanding of collaborative working Skills
- Good organisation and facilitation skills
- Good communication and listening skills
- Ability to proficiently use standard IT systems
- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle Experience
- Experience of networking with key stakeholders
- Experience of delivering activities within a group setting
- Experience of managing a budget and allocating resources effectively
- Experience of producing written reports in a timely manner for managers and or commissioners
- Experience of managing and coordinating staff and volunteers

Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for a Service Manager to join our team. You will join us on a part-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a salary of £12.52 per hour (£22,861 FTE), 26 days holiday (pro rata) plus paid statutory Bank Holidays (pro rata) - Ten weeks company sick pay following successful completion of probation
