Full Job Description

The Council's Community Support Team leads work across a range engagement, antisocial behaviour and community safety priorities. We are currently looking to recruit a dynamic, hardworking, and knowledgeable individual to enhance our Community Engagement Team. The Senior Community Participation Officer will lead on the delivery of proactive projects, community engagement and provide support to the Ipswich Community Safety Partnership (CSP).

This challenging and highly rewarding role will lead in the delivery of projects and activities that complement the priorities of the Ipswich Community Safety Partnership, the Council's Community Engagement Strategy and other county-wide Strategies. The role will include benchmarking and research to help inform strategies and policies to develop and deliver strong engagement campaigns, projects and problem solving activities. The role focuses on partnership working to successfully combat issues that include PREVENT, domestic abuse, anti-social behaviour, serious violence, modern slavery, criminal exploitation etc. The postholder will have line management responsibilities and will be required to deliver training to IBC staff and partner agencies.

The successful candidate will be experienced in leading and managing complex projects within a community safety or related setting. We are looking for someone who

Is a skilled communicator, with the ability to build credible relationships across the Council and with a range of external stakeholders to successfully deliver strategic priorities.
Is thorough, well organised, comfortable chairing meetings, has good report writing and excellent presentation skills, and is able to present in a wide variety of formats to stakeholders.

This post is offered on a fixed term basis for 12 months

This is a hybrid working role (a minimum of 1 day per week working in the office).
