Full Job Description
At MHA our Chaplains are the focus for the spiritual life of the Home and Scheme, ensuring that the spiritual needs of residents, staff and families are addressed, including visits to hospitals, attending staff meetings and residents/relatives' meetings whilst ensuring that relationships are developed and maintained between MHA and the local churches and other faith communities., Spiritual well-being - rather than religious affiliation or belief - as a universal need is a cornerstone of MHA's positive approach to ageing and we aim to provide the highest quality care and support for older people of all faiths and beliefs. We are looking for a person to be responsible for the spiritual, religious and pastoral life of the home/scheme and who will build good working relationships with local faith communities. A significant proportion of our residents participate in the regular Christian worship that is part of the life of all our homes and schemes, so alongside an inclusive approach to spirituality, we need a Chaplain who is able to lead Christian worship. We are therefore looking for a person who is in good standing with their Christian community1 (a lay person or an ordained minister). An empathetic understanding of spiritual aspects of ageing and dementia, demonstrated through experience of providing pastoral care and, ideally, leading services, is essential. 1In accordance with the Equality Act 2010: Schedule 9, Part 1, there is an Occupational Requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian.

Join us you'll quickly see why people say we feel like a second family. You'll understand that our team simply won't compromise in the quality of their support. You'll see our home is made to enhance the comfort and independence of older people. And you'll feel the charitable ethos, along with the spirituality and warmth that flows through every MHA home. Above all, we hope you'll see how the support and surroundings of Reuben Manor care home in Stockton-on-Tees could welcome a new lease of life for we care about - with wellbeing, friendship and respect at its heart.
Permanent - Part time - 10 hours Salary £25700 per annum, pro rata for part time Please note we are only accepting candidates currently living within a 45-minute commute of the Care Home Would you like to make a positive contribution to benefit older people?
