Full Job Description

The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Services team works closely with families, schools, and other professionals to assess children's needs and develop Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The service manages a wide variety of work, such as, reviews of EHCPs, arranging commissioned provision, consultations for mainstream and specialist placements.

The service now operates within several focused teams with strong cross team working and a commitment to ensuring all contribute to service wide priorities.

SEND Family Services Managers have operational oversight of teams including line management. This will include providing advice and guidance with regards to the management of casework; the delivery of key-working and person-centred approaches in the teams' engagement with children, young people and their families; and monitoring performance against service wide and individual targets. Our locality teams have a focus on annual reviews and the ongoing work to maintain EHCPs on behalf of our children, young people and families., Having a strategic oversight of team including holding supervision meetings and professional development review meetings
- Analysing statutory data to support the direction of work within teams
- Supporting the service in achieving statutory timeframes for key performance areas
- Providing support for complex situations and work alongside partner agencies to resolve issues and concerns
- Having a strategic oversight of the quality assurance of work completed by staff and EHCPs held for children and young people, We are looking to welcome to the team individuals who will demonstrate key-working approaches in their everyday practice and have professional relationships with and understanding of education settings and partner agencies to underpin this work. We are working closely with our family representatives and our partners in health and social care to achieve this, but we still have a great deal to do. £46,670 per annum (pro rata for part time)
