As a Senior SEND Case Officer, you'll lead and mentor a team of Casework Officers, ensuring that statutory processes are delivered with excellence, efficiency, and a person-centred approach. What You'll Do

  • Lead and Manage: Oversee a team of SEND Casework Officers, providing guidance, mentoring, and quality assurance to ensure high standards in all areas of statutory SEND work.
  • Statutory Assessment: Support and oversee the statutory assessment process, ensuring accurate identification of needs and effective, strengths-based provisions.
  • Person-Centred Approach: Champion the voices of children, young people, and their families, ensuring they are integral to every decision made.
  • EHCP Quality Assurance: Draft, review, and maintain high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines and reflecting the aspirations of the child or young person.
  • Collaborative Working: Partner with education, health, and social care professionals to coordinate effective, multi-agency assessments and support plans.
  • Facilitate Reviews: Ensure provisions remain relevant and robust by leading annual and interim EHCP reviews, advocating for the needs of children and families.
  • Complex Case Oversight: Provide expertise and leadership on complex cases, escalating appropriately and ensuring positive outcomes.

    We're seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior SEND Case Officer who:
  • Leads with confidence, bringing experience in mentoring and managing teams to deliver high-quality SEND services.
  • Has a proven track record of managing statutory processes, including overseeing EHCP assessments and reviews.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of SEND legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice (2015), and can apply this knowledge effectively in practice.
  • Thrives on collaboration, building trusted relationships with families, schools, health professionals, and other key stakeholders.
  • Is highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing a complex and varied caseload while supporting team members to achieve their goals.
