Full Job Description
The Early Intervention in Psychosis Practitioners will provide a highly specialist service to those people aged 14-35 years of age, who present with a first episode of psychosis. Due to the age range, there is an expectation team interface will also include liaison with CAMHS.
The post holder will organise their own workload and assist the team in carrying out comprehensive assessments of need and risk of patients accessing the Early Intervention in Psychosis Services.
The post holder with work autonomously with patients who have been assessed as being suitable for the EIPS intervention, by adhering to treatment plans that have been developed to aid the patients' mental health condition, and improve their recovery, Working within a primary care mental health context, you will be working with individuals presenting with first episode psychosis. As a key part of the multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for the delivery of specialist assessment and intervention to this client group, with the aims of:
+ Supporting and informing diagnostic processes
+ Contributing to effective risk assessment and management practices
+ Supporting service users to maintain contact and engagement with values roles, routines and responsibilities
+ Working in a way that empowers service users to identify and express preferences, needs and strengths
+ Ensure that Recovery principles are at the core of all assessment and intervention processes
+ Delivering focused Care and Treatment Planning (CTP)
+ Supporting families at a time of distress and concern - via the delivery of Family Behaviour Therapy (BFT) approaches
+ Carry a referred caseload
+ Develop networks with other services that support recovery and inclusion eg. Local colleges, employers, Third Sector organisations, secondary care mental health services
+ Work in a manner that maintains hope for service users and their families
