Full Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented and research-driven fundraiser looking to make an impact? They're recruiting a Philanthropy Officer to play a key role in identifying and managing fundraising prospects to support the organisation's major donor, trusts and foundations, corporate, and community fundraising programmes. They're looking for people with the passion, talent, skills and experience that all add up to a caring and community-minded workforce. They believe that the people they support have the right to a full and flourishing life. They deserve the very best in delivery. Driven by their core values, the organisation strives to be Open, Enabling, Inclusive and Courageous in all that they do. Their disability services across adult care, children's care and education are all focused on inclusion and support. Committed to professional, flexible and personalised care, they are passionate about going the extra mile in providing opportunities for people to thrive and live well. The Role In this role, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining a strong prospect pipeline, ensuring fundraisers have high-quality leads to engage. You'll conduct detailed research on potential funders, track donor insights using Raiser's Edge, and support bid writing for lower-value funding applications. Your work will help drive new opportunities and strengthen existing donor relationships. They're looking for someone with experience in prospect research, fundraising, or donor stewardship. You should have excellent analytical and research skills, a strong understanding of fundraising intelligence tools, and the ability to write clear and compelling funding applications. A proactive approach, attention to detail, and passion for fundraising will be essential in this role. If you're motivated by supporting high-value fundraising efforts and want to contribute to an organisation making a real difference, they'd love to hear from you.
- Degree or equivalent experience in fundraising, research, communications, or a related field.
- Experience in prospect research, fundraising, or donor stewardship.
- Ability to analyse and present research findings in a clear and actionable way.
- Strong understanding of fundraising from trusts & foundations, major donors, or community sources.
- Experience using databases (ideally Raiser's Edge) for prospect tracking and pipeline management.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and assess funding opportunities.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to draft funding applications and donor briefings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM databases, and online research tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, working efficiently in a part-time capacity.
They want to reward staff in a range of ways for their hard work. You can be nominated for a recognition letter from a member of the Executive Leadership Team and you may also be nominated to receive a gift voucher up to £50 for going above and beyond within your role. - Excellent training package provided for all staff.
- Generous Annual Leave entitlement of 25 days + 8 days bank holiday for the first 5 years. Increasing to 28 days + 8 days bank holiday after 5 years.
- Pension Scheme.
- Death in service scheme.
- Access to their employee assistance program.
