Who Will You Be Supporting?
You'll be supporting an extravagant and determined lady with a learning disability, who knows what she wants and loves to live life to the fullest. She thrives on routine and enjoys building relationships with those around her. Some of her favourite activities include:
- Animal Lover - She adores animals and enjoys spending time with them.
- Fitness Enthusiast - Regular gym sessions and even a fun game of crazy golf are part of her routine.
- Pamper Sessions - Loves a makeover and enjoys pampering sessions.
- Social Butterfly - She loves eating out in the community, watching soap operas, and taking an annual holiday across the UK.
Family involvement is a key part of her life, so maintaining strong communication with her loved ones is essential.
What Will You Be Doing?
As a Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in empowering her to live independently and enjoy life to the fullest. Your responsibilities will include:
- Daily Support: Providing verbal prompts to assist with her daily routines and personal care.
- Routine Management: Helping her maintain her structured routine, including meal prep, medication administration, and community outings.
- Building Relationships: Developing positive connections with her family, internal teams, and external professionals.
- Activity Engagement: Supporting her in the gym, on day trips, during meals out, and on her annual holiday.
- Behavioural Support: You will also need to provide emotional reassurance when experiencing behaviours of distress - full positive behaviour support training is provided but previous experience is essential.
Shift Patterns
- Day Shifts: 7:00am - 3:00pm / 8:00am - 6:00pm / 3:00pm - 11:00pm
- Sleep-In Shifts: 11:00pm - 7:00am (2-3 per week)
- Long Day Shifts: 7:00am - 11:00pm
Shifts might be flexible to accommodate the individual's active lifestyle. A fair split of weekend shifts is required. Rotas are provided in advance to support your work-life balance., BSL Support: British Sign Language (BSL) translated videos are available for all of our recruitment communications.
Requirements: Experience with Behaviours of Distress and a passion for making a positive impact, Has experience working with behaviours of distress.

- Is friendly, patient, and has excellent communication skills.
- Is organised, has strong time-management skills, and is punctual.
- Is flexible and proactive, with a positive approach to new ideas.
