Full Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and creative Allied Health Lead to join the Older People's Mental Health Services for a 6 month secondment to support the service leadership team across the pathway, both in a clinical and an operational capacity.
The role will entail developing and supporting the AHP team within older people's mental health services, enhancing stakeholder partnerships, supporting the gatekeeping process and offering specialist advice for the management of complex patients with either an SMI or advanced dementia.
The role requirements are under review, the post holder will be in a position to influence the future needs of the role, including the clinical requirements., + Provide professional leadership for the AHP and wider MDT staff within mental health older peoples services and enable the strategic development of the professions in accordance with national and local NHS guidance. Working across the inpatient and community pathway with the other professional lead
+ Be accountable for the professional and clinical performance of AHP registered and non-registered staff within the service and to perform a representative and advisory role for this service for matters relating to the allied health professions.
+ Offer advice to the Allied Health Professions Lead, Clinical leads and Service Managers on the AHP role, staffing levels and skill mix within service developments for the Service.
+ Be actively involved in developing clinical and multidisciplinary services through the leadership role for AHPs within the Service
+ Perform a professional leadership and advisory role within the Service
+ Work collaboratively with the Trust Allied Health Professions Lead, other lead therapists within the Mental Health Service and other directorates to ensure the provision of a coordinated, integrated and responsive therapy service across the Trust
+ Contribute to the provision and development of services across the district.
+ To do this in collaboration with other NHS, Public Health, Social Care services, and Voluntary Agencies
+ Develop long term strategic plans and business cases for AHPs related services within the Older Peoples care group
