Full Job Description
As Fundraising Officer you will join at an important time, following the College's 200th Anniversary commemorations and the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor.
The Fundraising Officer is a diverse role with plenty of opportunities for development and learning in a higher education setting. Working with a largely, cold portfolio of 200 - 400 alumni prospects, this role will support the team's Mid-Level project by prioritising meetings and activating new prospect relationships. The Mid-Level Giving project is a priority for the Philanthropy team, and the wider department, helping to focus on a key area of Birkbeck's portfolio, and creating a warmer network of active alumni supporters.
The Officer will be responsible for engaging alumni prospects on Birkbeck's programmes and inspiring them to make donations within the £5,000 - £25,000 range that support the University's ambition of ensuring education is available to everyone, regardless of their social background or age.
To be successful in this role, you'll be a proactive and experienced fundraiser, who is passionate about relationships and helping to connect supporters with Birkbeck's fundraising priorities. You will have strong communication skills, and have worked on telephone campaigns or enjoy the challenge of connecting with prospects through telephone calls and face-to-face meetings.
If you have experience as Supporter Experience Officer, Fundraising Campaigner, Partnerships Engagement Officer, or Corporate Partnerships Officer then this role could be for you. This role is for six months and would require at least two days a week in the office.
If this sounds like the perfect fit, we'd love to hear from you today!
£38,443 rising to £43,636 per annum, Grade 6 of the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance that applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
: a competitive salary and pension scheme, 31 days paid leave, flexible, hybrid working arrangements, generous benefits in the HE sector, and being located in the heart of Bloomsbury, Euston, London.
Contract:
Full-time (35 hours a week), 6-month, fixed term contract. Flexible and hybrid with at least two days a week on site. Please submit a CV and personal statement for consideration. Closing date: Sunday 20 April 2025, interview date: Thursday 1 May 2025.
