Full Job Description
As the Strategic Lead, you will manage the social care payment billing teams, driving payment and billing improvements and efficiencies across the service. You will also play a vital role in implementing the adult social care charging policy, ensuing it meets statutory requirements and the council's strategic goals. What you will be doing:
- It will be your responsibility to oversee charging, billing and payments activity and ensure that payments and billing are processed efficiently and meet statutory and non-statutory duties.
- We require you to lead the implementation of adult social care charging strategies.
- It will be your responsibility to effectively manage a team of circa 25 team members, providing a high level of support, motivation and challenge.
- We require you to provide or facilitate training and/or information sessions to departments and partner organisations to enhance their understanding of adult social care payment and billing requirements and application of the adult social care charging policy.
You will be professionally qualified and have a degree in a relevant subject, an accountancy qualification and/or substantial experience in the delivery of an accounts payable, receivable, or social care payments and billing service area. - We require you to have leadership experience, with the ability to manage, co-ordinate and plan the work of the teams to effectively deliver a range of quality and cost-effective services.
- You must have financial experience of managing budgets.
- It is essential that you have influencing and stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships, negotiate and influence colleagues and partners.
