Full Job Description
Responsibilities include:
+ managing classrooms to supervise and direct pupils to complete work that has been set
+ supporting positive pupil engagement and pupil conduct while they are undertaking this work
+ taking the class register, and assisting with the follow up of pupils who are unaccounted for at morning and afternoon registrations
+ dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures
+ liaising with the pastoral team about urgent pastoral or safeguarding concerns when required
+ collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
+ reporting back as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising
+ being on supervision duty over breaktime and lunchtime, as required, to monitor and ensure safe behaviour in designated play and social spaces
+ undertaking other supervisory duties around the school and provide assistance with other general duties when required
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ Flexibility and enthusiasm, and an ability to take the initiative as required
+ Motivated to work with children and young people
+ Strong pastoral instincts and a commitment to excellent pastoral care and safeguarding for all pupils
Desirable:
+ Experience of working with or caring for children
+ Salary: £19,357 per annum
+ Monday to Friday: 08:40 to 16:10 term time only. (includes half an hour for provided lunch)
+ 25 working days' annual paid holiday plus statutory English public holidays (pro rata) - personal holiday can only be taken during the normal school holidays
