Full Job Description
The post holder will be responsible for delivery of high-quality, specialised therapy across the cluster of academies in the London South-East region to children and young people who present with complex needs, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, Autism, Neurodivergence and speech and language communication needs (SLCN) You will draw upon their knowledge, skills and experience of working with children who present challenging behaviour and who have significant and complex social, emotional and learning needs often stemming from adverse childhood experiences. This may require working therapeutically one to one with a specific child/young person or supporting a small group or whole class, depending on need. Within this role you may offer structured, weekly sessions to pupils, and/or in the moment therapeutic support where required. It is truly life-changing and enhancing work that delivers and rewards daily.
- Experience of working in a school or other educational setting with experience within a related field.
- Experience of working with children and young people in challenging contexts
- Working with families in difficult circumstances and knowing where to signpost help/support.
- A range of experience in own specialised therapeutic field and in wider therapies
- And of course, a great team with relationship building DNA supported by a collaborative approach that will instantly gel with the culture and purpose of Oasis. A community of academies that truly cares and delivers impactful outcomes.
The Oasis stated goal that every Oasis student belongs, is able to explore their purpose and is equipped with the knowledge and skills to have real choice and opportunity to flourish in their lives lies at the heart of our ambition. BUT we recognise that some learners with significant difficulties require a little more help - from supported communication for non-verbal pupils to providing emotional literacy and social skills programmes to fully verbal children. A complex ask that needs experience to ensure successful deployment. Understanding specifically what 'learning' means for children and young people who present with complex needs, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, Autism, Neurodivergence and Speech and Language communication needs, requires specialist provision. Oasis is breaking new ground in how we build and deliver this capability in house, and one of these roles is for a brand-new Cluster Therapist within the wider Oasis Mental Health team working across the following Academies (Oasis Shirley Park, Oasis Academy Arena, Oasis Academy Coulsdon) What you will get: In return for bringing your breadth of experience devising and delivering interventions and assessments to learners with a broad range of difficulties we can offer you: - A unique opportunity to impact change through YOUR strategies, ideas, techniques and interventions.
- A support network of professionals underpinned by the same beliefs you hold dear
- A commitment to provide supervision for you in this key clinical role
- Access to support from within the wider Mental Health team
- A range of tailored benefits to suit your lifestyle
- An ethos and purpose that sets us apart from others.
- And a person-centric culture that cares about its employees
