Full Job Description
Our son is a loving and creative 12-year-old boy who likes to draw and make clay models of his favourite characters. He likes to go for beach and woodland walks. He also likes swimming, trampolining, and soft play activities. He does have his little quirks and challenges like most children with ASD, like his autism rituals that he likes to do when transitioning. He doesn't like to be rushed so patience is vital but once he has done his little rituals, he is fine to transition.
He can be vocal, and his speech is getting better, but he mainly uses his choice book when requesting his wants and needs. He doesn't have much sense of danger so needs the extra support when transitioning from one place to another, near roads, etc. Ideally, his PAs would enjoy walking, trampolining and swimming so that he can participate in these activities. It is a must that his PAs are enthusiastic with a genuine interest and enjoyment in working with children. This will mostly be for weekends and school holidays where he can enjoy an activity.
This will be 2 to 1 support role so will require working alongside another PA. Being a car driver is essential so that he can be transported safely, and mileage will be reimbursed at 0.45p per mile.
This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS check and references which will be taken up if you are offered the post.
At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
