Alternatively if you would prefer to complete a manual application form, phone us onand we will send an application form to you. Please note : we reserve the right to close this advert early if we have received a sufficient number of applications, so don't delay, apply today. Safer Recruitment and Diversity statement MacIntyre safeguards and promotes the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Therefore we work with successful candidates to complete appropriate checks prior to joining. MacIntyre is committed to promoting equality, encouraging diversity and embracing inclusion among our workforce. We want our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society and the people we support. As part of this commitment, our accessibility toolbar allows you a number of options : read adverts in another language (including Welsh for our Services located in Wales), change the font to Open Dyslexia, change the colours, and many others. Just click the button marked "Accessibility" at the top of the screen. COVID-19 Information We will take every precaution to keep you and everyone involved safe during the recruitment process and your employment with MacIntyre. We encourage all our employees to follow Government advice and get vaccinated against COVID and flu.

You don't need experience to become a children's Support Worker for MacIntyre. If you have the right attitude, share our values and are willing to learn, you're likely to be a great fit. We are looking for people who celebrate differences, and we strive to make all our staff feel included, valued and respected. You must have a manual driving licence as you may be asked to drive service vehicles and obviously you will need to get to and from work - our children's home is in a rural location with no nearby public transport. You must live within 15 miles of Wingrave.

Join us as a Relief Support Worker, we provide support 24 hours a day seven days per week so we can probably offer the hours that suit you. How Relief hours work It's a bit like a zero hour contract but without the bad bits.

  • You don't have to work when it's not convenient for you.
  • Receive the same training towards professional qualifications as permanent staff.
  • We offer these contracts not because it suits us but because it suits you.
  • With over 95% of our staff are on permanent contracts you will be supported to apply for one when its right for you.
  • Job security and career development
  • The Relief (Bank) post supports the permanent rota staff by completing shifts that are vacant due to annual leave, training and other staff absences. As such, hours are non-specific but your manager will endeavour to balance the needs of the service against your own work / life balance as appropriately as possible. We normally plan the rotas one month in advance, but additional opportunities also come up due to unexpected staff absences. So what would you be doing? Willow House in Wingrave is home to five young people, Simon, Richard, Craig, Carl and Stephen
  • We are a very active bunch always moving around, we love our routines getting up and ready for school. Craig and Carl need support in some areas but don't when it comes to messy play : it's their absolute favourite. Simon loves to watch Disney films. could you be his popcorn buddy? Four of the young people love to explore parks, go swimming and be active in soft plays.
  • You'll be trained to become a qualified children's Support Worker at our children's home near Aylesbury. You'll be working with young people who have autism and severe learning disabilities. You'll support children and young people aged 11 to 19, supporting them with their daily lives and encouraging them to take part in community activities and hobbies. During the day they go to the nearby MacIntyre School., MacIntyre is a national charity which supports over 1,200 people with a learning disability and / or autism.

We were founded in 1966 by the visionary parent of a child with disabilities and have been growing steadily ever since. We celebrate and develop everyone's unique gifts, talents and contributions. Training and Development At Macintyre we fully support your training and development to become the best Support Worker you can be. We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of eLearning, face-to-face training and mentoring support whilst on the job. But it doesn't stop there - throughout your career with us you will have access to our own dedicated in house Learning and Development team, Quality Specialists and HR Teams. These teams, along with your Manager, will provide you with opportunities to learn and develop professionally as well as enabling and supporting you to achieve professional qualifications and career progression opportunities - all free of charge. Pay and Rewards We provide a range of benefits to reward and thank our Support Workers which includes :
  • Six weeks' annual leave including statutory public holidays
  • Workplace Pension scheme MacIntyre will contribute 3% of your salary to all eligible employees
  • MacIntyre Staff Savings Scheme

  • MacIntyre Sick Pay (qualifying period)
  • Life assurance scheme offering valuable benefits to your dependents
  • MacIntyre Rewards Scheme which recognises and rewards staff
  • MacIntyre Perks which offers up to 6% discount off leading retailers including Tesco, Curry / PC World, Costa and many more
