Band G SCP18-24
Contract: Permanent
36 hours per week - 39 weeks per year
As our therapy team continues to expand, we are looking for a dedicated Family Support Lead & DDSL to join our Family Hub at Grove Street Primary School. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive, growth oriented school community that values and champions its staff.
About Grove Street Primary School:
Grove Street Primary is a Centre of Excellence for Inclusion, a Therapeutic School, a Centre of Excellence for Oracy (Voice 21), and a School of Sanctuary. We are fully committed to ensuring every child has a champion, meeting their emotional, social, and academic needs with the utmost care and support. Our inclusive approach means all children are valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
As a local Family Hub, we support children from birth, with Early Years Provision starting at age 2. We offer a 2-form entry in mainstream classes, along with LA resourced provision bases for children with ASC/social communication needs, with further bases planned for 2025.
You'll be joining our welcoming, dedicated team in May 2025 (or sooner if possible).
Key Personal Qualities We're Looking For:
- A warm, approachable personality with a good sense of humour and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills, both with children and adults
- Ability to build trust with children who may exhibit emotional distress or social withdrawal, fostering positive relationships
- A commitment to making a real difference in the lives of families and children at Grove Street Primary
What We Offer:
- A Headteacher and leadership team who truly value staff wellbeing, offering wellbeing days off and an open-door policy for support, celebration, and communication
- A friendly, supportive working environment
- Weekly supervision with our DHT (DSL & Mental Health Lead) and Weekly Therapeutic Team supervision
- Ongoing professional development and support
- A leadership team that listens and is dedicated to staff growth
- A proactive and supportive Governing Body focused on making a positive difference for the entire school community
We warmly invite you to visit our school and experience the unique, family-like atmosphere for yourself. At Grove Street, mental health and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do, not only for our children and families, but for our staff too.
Please apply by application form (with personal statement) to the Headteacher, Mrs Lisa Walsh.
Visits to school: Wednesday 23rd April 4.00pm and Thursday 24th April 4.00pm (please ring our office to book a visit)
Closing Date: 9am Monday 28th April 2025
Observation / task and interviews are to be held on Tuesday 6th May 2025
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Any offer of employment will be subject to receipt of an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
All applicants will be considered on the basis of suitability for the post regardless of sex, race or disability.
