Full Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Southwark to assist with the appointment of a Senior Play Worker, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., We are seeking a dedicated Senior Play Worker to deliver and supervise high-quality play activities for children and young people in playgrounds and parks. You will manage the day-to-day operations of an open-access play facility, ensuring a safe, engaging, and developmental environment.,
- Lead the delivery of adventure play activities to support childrens personal development.
- Plan and implement a diverse programme of activities for young people.
- Promote participation in planning and evaluating activities through consultation groups.
- Conduct outreach to maximize service uptake and liaise with local schools, community groups, and residents.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to enhance service provision.
- Supervise and support up to three play workers, ensuring high-performance standards.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Play Work or Youth Work. Essential: - Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and health & safety regulations.
- Experience in planning and delivering adventure play activities.
- Proven ability to build positive relationships with children, young people, and stakeholders.
- Previous experience supervising staff and managing play settings.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
