Full Job Description
I am a happy smiley four year old boy with lots of energy. I am very easy to get along with, but I quite like to play on my own. I can be very affectionate, especially with adults whom I know well, and I can be quite cheeky and love to giggle.
I am good at moving around an indoor environment independently and I am very excited to explore new places as I am interested in lots of different things. I love to climb and push my soft play boxes around. I love all things that spin and light up, I'm very good at pushing buttons to make things work and get very excited when I can do this myself. I enjoy listening to music and love lights. I enjoy my food but need help with this. I like going swimming and being in the water and love to go to soft play areas.
I don't like to be cold but I don't like to wear hats or gloves. I have sensory aversions which mean I do not like my hands to be restricted or to touch certain textures or any food. I sometimes can be become upset when it is too noisy or busy (but it has to be quite busy before I become upset, and it also depends how I am feeling that day).
I need help with all aspects of my personal care including changing nappies, eating and loading a spoon / fork, dressing and undressing. I am unable to communicate my wants or needs or how I am feeling and am not able to follow instructions. I sometimes need support to help me regulate and provide sensory feedback. When outside if I fall over, I need help getting back up as I use surfaces to help me mobilise indoors. I struggle to walk for long distances and I am prone to falling over a lot.
This role is for 4 hours per week, mostly evenings and weekends. The job will be re-evaluated in July with the hopes of the post continuing. The family are based in Market Weighton. If you feel you could be a good fit for this family please contact
