Full Job Description
Thirteen Group is on the lookout for an Asbestos Co-ordinator to join our Compliance Services team. As an expert on asbestos, you'll manage our approach to asbestos management and associated works. You'll organise and supervise a range of asbestos activities, including surveys and removals carried out by contractors Working in a team of two, you'll provide a service to all operational teams. This role requires a mixture of home and office work, working from our fantastic office at Hudson Quay in Middlesbrough at least one day a week. We'll need you to be flexible around business and team need, so you may need to come into the office more frequently when required,
- Working with contractors, you'll plan, schedule and manage asbestos surveys, encapsulation and removals across our housing stock, as well as non-domestic properties
- As our technical expert, you'll advise and provide quality assurance on all asbestos queries
- Undertake quality control inspections to ensure works have been completed to a high standard
- Responsible for managing and mitigating asbestos risk, produce risk assessments and ensure we're adhering to safe working practices and procedures
- Manage and maintain digital records of certificates and records of asbestos
Experience in arranging and supervising the control of asbestos in domestic and non-domestic locations - Good contract management skills and ability to lead meetings.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of managing asbestos safely and associated works
- You'll hold or willing to work towards BOHS P405 (Management of Asbestos in Buildings)
- Ideally, you'll also hold IOSH Managing Safely and / or NEBOSH National General Certificate or be willing to work towards
- Fantastic communication, presentation and written skills
