Job ref: 59e681718f6e4e1d9de204cfb77b6191
Full Job Description
Have you ever considered a role as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) in Health Visiting or School Nursing?
Are you motivated to learn and develop knowledge, skills and critical abilities to provide leadership and innovation in schools and local communities? Would you enjoy the rewards and challenges of leading new ways of working and innovation in preventative health in the community?
As a SCPHN you can make a real difference to children, young people, families and communities. You will play a fundamental role in the development of the Healthy Child Programme 0-19 across the BNSSG footprint, promoting development, emotional health and well-being of the child or young person. You will support parents/carers and tackle important public health issues whilst focusing on the child or young person.
This is a one-year fixed term, fully funded post to undertake defined project training and is for 37.5 hours a week. Please note this will also be study at Masters level., As a SCPHN student you will be an NMC Registered Nurse or Midwife and will complete a 52-week programme at Masters level to gain the professional qualification of SCPHN (50% in practice and 50% theory lead by UWE). Included in the 52 weeks the student will gain practical experience and exposure to a range of experiences within the service.
The practice assessor will assess achievement of overall proficiency for entry to the SCPHN part of the register. Contact with families is in their school, home and other community venues and you will be required to attend the university for academic purposes.
Students will have access to additional learning within the organisation including, learning sets and role specific training alongside the public health nursing teams.
For the practice and placement element of this role you will be aligned to a team within one of the localities across BNSSG. Whilst you will be in one of these areas for the first part of your training, you will be in another locality for the later part of the training period. This is supportive of your experiential learning and exposure to wider communities within our geography., Ever dreamt about a career that sparks excitement and fosters your professional growth? Picture yourself waking up eager to make a real difference in our community, surrounded by teams who value your unique ideas.
We are Sirona care & health - England's largest provider of Adult's and Children's Community Services and we'd love for you to join us in Bristol, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire.
Agenda for Change Salary, full NHS benefits, 27+ days' annual leave, and participation in the NHS Pension Scheme - just a glimpse of the benefits you'll receive.
We welcome and encourage all applicants. We are committed to having a workforce that reflects the communities we support and are proactively seeking to improve the diversity of our workforce. We know diversity fosters creativity and innovation.
We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where all belong. We aim to draw upon the widest possible range of views and experiences to meet the changing needs of our colleagues, partners and communities we serve.
Whether you're starting your journey in healthcare, looking for a fresh challenge within the NHS, or contemplating a career change, don't be daunted by the prospect of something different - we create development opportunities for all our colleagues and apprentices.
