Full Job Description
To support the 0-19 Public Health Nursing Team in their provision of health promotion for children, young people and families, Bridgewater Community NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity for dynamic and enthusiastic individuals who want a career in public health nursing.
You, as a new member to our team will be supporting the Oral Health Improvement Practitioners to deliver key, evidence-based advice and interactive sessions engaging with individuals and groups from health, education, local communities and other appropriate settings. Your role will include providing and facilitating small group sessions for schools, early years, nurseries and other appropriate groups, using key oral health promotion messages.

Main duties of the job
To enable the public health support worker to develop the skills and competencies to:
Raise awareness about health and social well-being and related factors, services, and resources.
Raise awareness about the actions that groups, and individuals can take to improve their oral health and social well-being.
Develop, sustain, and evaluate collaborative work.
To communicate appropriate, relevant, evidence-based oral health advice effectively with the clients using a range of verbal and non verbal communication tools appropriate to the client.
Provide and facilitate small group sessions for schools, early years.
Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment to ensure children are safeguarded.
Develop capacity and confidence of individuals and groups, including families and communities, to influence and use available services, information, and skills, acting as an advocate where appropriate
Identify and evaluate service provision and support networks for individuals, families, and groups within in the local area.
Identify individuals, families and groups who are at risk and in need of further support.
Develop and sustain relationships with groups and individuals with the aim of improving health and social well-being.
May be required to undertake other areas of health and well-being work with changing priorities.
Flexible working will be considered for all roles.
