Role:  Learning Support Assistant

Location: Buzz Learning, Ashington, Northumberland, NE63 8AP

Salary: £20,906.25 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday - 37.5 Hours per week.

Contract: Permanent - Term Time Only

At Buzz Learning, we believe in the immense value and potential of our Learning Support Assistants, so much so that we often refer to them as ‘Progress Coaches’. Our School and College:

We established in 2004 and are firmly rooted in our local community and committed to providing education and further education to equip our learners with the skills, experience, and qualifications they need to progress into successful adulthood.

Our nurturing learning environments cater for students aged 11-16 years at our school and 16-24 years at our Post-16 Provision.

Our ethos is centred around empowering individuals to "be all you can," fostering a culture of growth, inclusivity, and achievement. With a strong commitment to excellence, we pride ourselves on maintaining a Good Ofsted rating, ensuring high-quality education and support for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students in their academic and personal development, providing guidance, encouragement, and motivation.
• Foster positive relationships with students, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with classroom activities, group projects, and individual student needs as directed by the teaching staff.
• Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback and reporting concerns to relevant staff members.
• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure the holistic development and well-being of students.

Requirements:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting student progress and development.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students facing challenges.
• Previous experience working in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
