What we are looking for
Are you looking to become a valued member in a team of passionate teachers who are committed to delivering a world-class Music extra curriculum that champions ambition and success? We are looking for someone to join the NSB School staffing body following the school's recent recognition as 'Secondary School of the Year' at the Northamptonshire Education Awards and 'Comprehensive School of the Year' in the East Midlands for 2025 - the third time we have secured this honour in The Times/The Sunday Times 'Best Schools' Guide' based on our outstanding GCSE and A level results.
We are seeking to appoint a passionate, driven and visionary Trust Director of Music who has oversight of all areas associated with the provision for extracurricular Music within the NSB Trust. The Trust Director of Music will have direct responsibility for the breadth and quality of performance at extracurricular and school representative level within the Trust. This responsibility will include equipment, facilities and environments for school music, the oversight of the utilisation of social media to support school music and school provision for and oversight of peripatetic instructors, lettings, groups and external links. In addition, the role will involve oversight of the extracurricular Music budget to ensure effective delivery of peripatetic tuition, trips and residentials, external professional support, productions/shows and wider provisions to continue the rich legacy of extracurricular excellence within Music.
The Trust Director of Music will lead the strategic planning for the Trust Schools' Music extra-curricular programmes and will support with staff succession planning. The role has a primary focus of ensuring that the ambition, rigour and excellence within the extracurricular Music programme provided for NSB School students is matched for students at other Trust schools. The role will also include strategic and operational delivery of all responsibilities linked to being a NMPAT Lead Music School.
