Full Job Description
Are you a qualified dispenserlooking for an exciting and fulfilling role? Do you want to join a supportiveand dynamic team? We have an excellent opportunity for you! The Welby Practiceis seeking a full-time or Part-time dispenser to work at our dispensaries in Bottesford,Harlaxton, and Waltham sites., As a dispenser, you will play a crucial role in our dispensary operations. Your responsibilities will include :
- Preparing and Dispensing Prescriptions : Ensuring each patient receives the correct medication and dosage with accuracy.
- Prescription Management : Handling prescription reception, logging, and managing phone calls and inquiries.
- Patient Records : Maintaining patient records with strict confidentiality standards.
- Communication : Effectively communicating with the public, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to understand their needs and safeguard sensitive information.
- Inventory Management : Ordering, receiving, and maintaining pharmaceutical stock, including conducting monthly stock audits. You will work up to hours from Monday to Friday, between 08 : 00 and 18 : 30, with a rotation between mornings and afternoons. Flexibility is essential for this role., To be responsible for the processing of prescriptionsin accordance with practice policy and extant legislation. In addition, thepost holder will be required to support the dispensary manager in ensuring a highlevel of service is delivered at all times whilst supporting themulti-disciplinary team in line with the strategic objectives of the practice. The following are the core responsibilities of the dispenser.There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will bedependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels : To be responsible for checking all medicines dispensed, ensuringthere are no discrepancies Dispensing medicines to the entitled population safely andaccurately Collecting prescription charges in accordance with dispensaryprotocol Maintaining stock levels within the dispensary, liaising with thedispensary manager to facilitate reordering Receiving and storing supplies in accordance with current policy,ensuring the cold chain is maintained where applicable Ensuring controlled drugs are dispensed in accordance withpractice policy Ensuring safe disposal of returned and / or out-of-date medicines Ensuring all repeat prescriptions are processed within a 48-hourtimeframe Providing patients with advice regarding all prescription matters Processing prescription requests via email, phone, fax,face-to-face and online Processing Dossett boxes Assisting the dispensary manager in the preparation of monthlyreturns Maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times Maintaining accurate records at all times, read coding entriesappropriately
