- Take a lead on emergency planning and readiness.
- Work with expert colleagues, council employees and representatives of other agencies to deliver a varied and flexible work programme.
- Actively promote awareness and ownership of each council's civil contingency arrangements In the event of an incident, you will work with the team to provide a 24/7 response service and be on our emergency duty rota no more than one week in every four-week period.
- A degree in Emergency Planning, Disaster Management or a similar subject, or an appropriate level of specialist knowledge obtained through extended experience and training within an emergency planning, emergency services, military or similar environment.
- Experience of responding to emergencies and incidents or participating in similar exercises
- Detailed knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act and Business Continuity ISO 22301
- Strong organisation, with project management and decision-making skills.
- A proven ability to engage and communicate with a range of stakeholders., This post is covered by the Fluency Duty, as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.
