This is an exciting opportunity to lead, motivate, and support a high-performing team in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the successful introduction of new products into production, ensuring they meet customer requirements while upholding the highest standards of quality, cost efficiency, and manufacturability. NPI Engineer role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by bridging the gap between design and manufacturing, ensuring operational success and product excellence. You will work collaboratively across all manufacturing areas within Supply Chain Management, supporting R&D teams during product development and ensuring seamless transitions to day-to-day production. By refining manufacturing processes and optimising operations, you will enhance product quality, maximise profitability, and ensure the successful operation of our established site in Eynsham, Oxford, and our state-of-the-art Industry 4.0 production facility in Bicester, Oxfordshire. As a New Product Introduction Engineer, your initial responsibilities will include:
- Partnering closely with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) to ensure final product designs are suitable for scalable manufacturing.
- Collaborating with design teams to enhance Design for Assembly (DFA) and define process engineering requirements to optimise labour utilisation and efficiency.
- Developing manufacturing processes from initial concept through to production, ensuring materials and components are optimised for efficient and high-yield manufacturing.
- Introducing and refining new manufacturing processes and equipment to support new product launches and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establishing robust feedback loops across departments and sharing lessons learnt to improve product quality and efficiency once in production.
A degree in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing (or a related discipline) or equivalent professional experience. - Substantial and diverse technical experience in manufacturing and process engineering, including hands-on involvement in DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
- Proven experience in leading and delivering NPI projects, with a focus on ensuring smooth transitions from development to production.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks during the design and manufacturing phases.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective cross-functional teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
