Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity within the Maintenance Team for a forward thinking highly motivated individual as a Maintenance Planner, to join our team based at our Confectionery Factory in Halifax. The team's short term and long-term goals include introducing a new long-term maintenance strategy and continually developing it. Increasing asset intensity and reducing downtime, working towards being the best maintenance team in the UK., A day in the life of a Maintenance Planner

  • Manage existing assets - Planned maintenance: Execute the weekly maintenance planning routine, which includes tasks prioritisation, maintenance shutdown scheduling in collaboration with production and work order execution review.
  • Execute and coordinate with the maintenance team, the review, creation and optimisation of maintenance plans in SAP to improve the quality and effectiveness of the maintenance planning system, including facilitating the implementation of 5W&1H (SMPs and Task Lists) for scheduled maintenance.
  • Coordinate 3rd party maintenance service providers to ensure high quality of service and challenge cost.
  • Be a part of the Continuous improvement process by leading projects/initiatives.
  • Build Engineering Capability: Build AMM (SAP) competencies within Engineering.
  • Manage existing assets - Budget management: Provide supporting data for maintenance budget planning and tracking. Establish and deploy AMM predefined reports to facilitate review of maintenance indicators.
  • Spare parts management: Coordinate and support the Technical Stores with the creation of new critical spares, review and update BOM's and participate in slow moving parts reviews.
  • Optimise maintenance planning and strategy, ensuring engineering and hygienic maintenance compliance.
  • Support in safety and quality issue resolution.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of all relevant technical documentation.
  • Participating and positively contributing to site initiatives as requested to include HACCP, ISO9002, CDM etc.

  • Proven Track Record (3 years minimum of experience in planning or similar position) within the FMCG industry (food/beverage preferable)
  • SAP/CMMS knowledge
  • Microsoft Share Point
  • Power BI (or equivalent) - compliance monitoring system
  • Engineering background (academic or otherwise) Electrical or mechanical
  • Apprenticeship in engineering (desirable)
  • Educated to minimum NVQ level 3 in engineering
  • Highly motivated
  • A vision to build a plan
  • Passion for Engineering solutions
  • Enthusiasm for Engineering maintenance
