Full Job Description
To support the growth of the Nuclear AT&R business, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Nuclear Safety Engineer based in our Bristol Office. As a Nuclear Safety Engineer, you will be working within an established yet growing team supporting the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in the UK Nuclear Submarine Programme (propulsion).,
- Provide authoritative advice and support to MOD on the management, production, control and approval of the nuclear safety case
- Advise on safety case expectations and requirements for safety campaigns
- Represent the team in internal and external project and safety meetings
- Lead in relevant safety and technical areas, providing technical advice to MOD
- Represent the team in internal and external project and safety meetings
Roles are available for a variety of different experience levels, from a candidate at the start of their career to a seasoned veteran. Whilst not a requirement, this role would also suit a former RN Cat A Watchkeeper looking for an opportunity to apply their knowledge of the naval reactor plant. Flexibility is key to the role, and you will have the opportunity to apply your skills in a variety of submarine related applications., Working knowledge of nuclear safety case structure, production and approval - Working knowledge of UK nuclear safety regulation and the organisations involved
- Previous experience within the naval nuclear propulsion programme and detailed knowledge of the naval reactor plant is desirable
- Previous experience within a nuclear safety related role is desirable
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering discipline
- Hold or be working towards Chartered status Transferable Skills
- Ability to work across a range of tasks effectively
- Liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work autonomously
- Act as an ambassador for the company on the client site
