Full Job Description
Are you ready to take the lead on a critical fire safety analysis for a complex aircraft system integration challenge? Join ALTEN UK as a Fire, Smoke & Explosion Risk Engineer, supporting high-impact defence programmes in the North West. You'll play a key role in developing a fire safety artefact that addresses certification compliance for flammable fluid systems within a legacy aircraft platform. This is a hands-on opportunity to influence the integration of safety-critical systems, working with experts across multiple disciplines. Shape the strategy for risk analysis where no prior framework exists-your input will be vital.,
- Lead the Fire, Smoke & Explosion Particular Risk Analysis, contributing directly to a certification artefact for aircraft-level safety assessments.
- Conduct Zonal Safety Analysis, identifying ignition sources and assessing hazards across normal and failure modes.
- Determine and document drainage and ventilation requirements for each affected zone, guiding test and evaluation activities.
- Assess material and equipment needs to support active fire protection systems in line with regulatory and project requirements.
- Interface with adjacent risk areas (e.g., Uncontained Rotor Burst, Wheel Tyre Burst, Wheels Up Landing) to ensure cohesive risk mitigation strategy.
- Collaborate with system integration, fuel system, and powerplant teams to understand legacy platform constraints and adapt to changes effectively.
